Cantaloupe

$27.00

It’s a rare occasion when we’re able to bring a true micro-lot into our Bright Series. With the time and care we put into sourcing, some of the best lots slip through our fingers before we can commit. The moment we tasted Jose & Rosario’s lot, we knew it was something special and we weren’t about to let it slip away.

This bright, juicy, and sweet washed Nicaraguan bursts with notes of star fruit, ripe cantaloupe, and a nostalgic touch of canned fruit salad. There’s something almost Geisha-like in its floral lift, but the clarity comes from meticulous picking, ripe bourbon cherries, and high-elevation magic.

Cantaloupe comes to us from Jose Luis and Rosario’s farm, El Taiwan, nestled in the highest altitudes of Jinotega, Nicaragua. In addition to coffee, they grow cabbage and potatoes, and run a small store out of their home with the help of their children Hazel, Gerson, Luis Miguel, and Angel Joan. It’s a true family operation, built on care, community, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Cantaloupe

$27.00

Up on a mountaintop, they and their family cultivate not only coffee but also cabbage and potatoes. Their kids (Hazel, Gerson, Luis Miguel and Angel Joan) help them run their farm and very small community store. When asked what they would like to do with increased income from coffee sales, they told us they'd like to improve the kitchen in their house and plant new coffee plants in order to maintain their production levels. – Gold Mountain Coffee
