In Nicaragua’s Land of Eternal Spring, this Yellow Pacamara finds its home. Grown in Matagalpa, which is regarded as the country’s premier coffee region, this coffee is the result of both exceptional terroir and dedicated stewardship. Since 2007, Ben Weiner has been an integral part of the local community, building relationships that extend far beyond his own farm. Through a commitment to ethical sourcing and collaboration, he has helped support the success of more than 100 producers in the region.
Yellow Pacamara is a naturally occurring mutation of the Pacamara varietal, and in this case, it is cultivated in its country of origin. With a deep understanding of both plant and place, Weiner has carefully guided this crop from cherry to cup. After harvest, the coffee undergoes an extended 131-hour fermentation alongside fresh lavender flowers. This is a distinctive process that infuses the green coffee with delicate floral complexity. Roasted on our Limited profile, the lavender character is allowed to fully express itself without overwhelming the cup.
The result is a coffee that feels both elegant and grounded. Pronounced floral notes are balanced by gentle spice and a silky texture that lingers pleasantly. A refined and expressive profile, this is a beautiful example of Nicaraguan coffee at its most distinctive and one we’re proud to share.

Benjamin Weiner started Finca Idealista in 2007 when he was graduating from law school with the goal of supporting the village school. Fast forward a year and Finca Idealista joined a dysfunctional Fair Trade Coop that was not fair to farmers. Weiner created a new idea, a group of farmers organized as a social enterprise to connect high-cupping coffees directly with roasters. Finca Idealista is now one of almost 100 farms in the group.
